Meet Abel Vincent Victorino, also known as AB Victor
Personal details
Full names: my name is Abel Vincent Victorino and is known as Abbo at home. Most of my friends call me AB or Bra-K as my nickname.
I was born on December 21, 1993 in Schmidtsdrift, where our people (San) communities lived in tents. I am the second child out of 3 children to my parents.
Education:
I started school in Schmidtsdrift in 2000 at the Schmidtsdrift San Combine School. In 2005 I left school, which was in Platfontein, while my mother was still in Schmidtsdrift, where I had to attend school, which was in Platfontein where I lived with my aunt and her children. So I had to go back to Schmidtsdrift to live with my mother. In 2007 we moved to a farm called Clieveden Malabar, just 10-15 kilometers outside Douglas. In 2008, my uncle Alli Maliti had to step in and offer me help so that I could go back to school in Platfontein. My mother insisted that it was a good idea and in 2009 I went back to school in Platfontein at !Xunkwesa Combine School. I matriculated in 2017. After completing Grade 12, I attended a computer literacy school for six months in April 2018 and graduated in April 2019 due to budget constraints. After graduation, I also attended another END-USER COMPUTER learnership for twelve months.
Work experience:
In 2019, I also worked as a Sifter at the IEC (independent electoral commission) AT THE ELECTION and NATIONAL ELECTION. And in 2020, before the outbreak of the Coronavirus, I started working at the school (!xunkwesa combine school) as a SIFTER for six months. After the six months, the Teaching Assistant program from Phase 1 to Phase 4 started where I have been working for almost 4 years. In my last year at the school where the contract ended in September 2023, I started working at the SABC in November 2023. From January to March 2024, I volunteered as a personal assistant at the school where I assisted the principal and the administration. In April 2024, I was appointed as the head of school nutrition to monitor.
In November 2023, I started working at the SABC as a presenter. Initially, I started with the breakfast program from 06:00 to 10:00. And the year later, 2025 until now, I am on the youth and music program from 14:00 to 17:00 on weekdays.
In my 2 years in the broadcasting industry, I have learned a lot and improved my communication skills and I look forward to achieving more in the future.
